Just select Gibraltar from a menu of "tiny islands and other miniscule provinces". It does not have to be visible. It is absolutely tiny, Rhode Island is quite big in comparison, as is Malta. Currently it looks like GB bit a big chunk out of Spain. I am not going to write in gigantic capitals about this, but it looks stupid and a menu would serve function.

Things are not always inaccurate for a reason.

The only thing is, this does not affect game-play, it's just visual. I don't see anyone complaining about how bad a menu looks or that the text somewhere is a wee too big. If something about the game doesn't fit your personal taste, change it. I change country colors, borders, and flags. That doesn't mean I want to petition to Paradox that there should be an exclusive American release of HOI IV that has the swastika for Germany's flag.

It does affect because Algeciras along the coast of Cadiz was a major entry point of Nationalists in the civil war. Cadiz itself is a very important military port.

Really, these map obsessions make my day. People don't want to play a game, they want it to be real life, to perfect scale. But they want it to be a paper map too, just like HOI2, while forgetting the gross innacuracies on previous maps. lol

Then I'm assuming you've taken the time to fix the same issue with HOI3, since the same issue appears in that game too. I know it's not fair to say, "well it doesn't matter because the previous game was just as bad." But I think it's unfair to scream at Paradox how wrong they are when we obviously don't care enough to actually fix the issue by modding HOI3, we just want our opinion to be the most right.

No. They want to play a good game with the less unnecessary bugs as possible. Did you even read all the arguments for why Gilbratar being too big is a problem before just decided to mock everyone who thought that way?

Let's calm down folks.

I'm pretty sure the borders on the map were not final in the video which was most of all focused on the general look and feel of the map. Not on border accuracy.

Seeing as the British controlled area is 2 provinces, it is clear that this is some kind of mistake that will obviously be corrected. We pointed it out in case they didn't notice (i'm 99,99% sure they know about the issue). Now there's no need to be angry at some unfinished alpha screenshots and videos, and certainly not to start going rabid about the issue.

What worries me is that Paradox just doesn't care. For example, in the latest stream about the map(I Think) someone commented saying that Gibraltar was oversized, but Matt just defended it, saying "Well the English pretty much had control over that region anyways."

It's not a matter of scale, or even distortion. This is just damn too big and inaccurate.

Clickable? This is why you can zoom in. Gibraltar should be made at least half the size.

Gibraltar should be made actual size - that is, teeny weeny, in global terms.

Actually in terms of visual look Gibraltar must be big enough to have a costal defense, port, bunker, and airport prop while leaving enough room for a soldier/counter to stand on it without overlaping other provinces :p

While we are at it, maybe we should complain that there are giant soldiers, ships, planes, and tanks roaming the earth too. I feel insulted at the gross inaccuracies!

Now, in all seriousness, giving an opinion on the size of an insignificant in size yet gigantic in importance rock at the tip of a country we have to consider as many factors as possible.

Making certain places true to size would render them essentially invisible to the player, yet many of these places, while small, proved to be of great strategic importance. The map shows this through abstraction.

Too small and you cannot click on it, but the end size is entirely debatable of course. IMO I would be more conserned with other aspects of this game, but that's just me.

Just select it from a "tiny islands and outposts" menu. It does not need to be oversized at all.
