GG preorder, Steam CK2 DLC?

So I have just preordered EU4 on GamersGate, simply because it is cheaper there for me (maybe because of the strategy avatar). However, I am now worried that I will not be able to receive the CK2 DLC, since my CK2 installation is a Steam-based one.

Can anyone confirm how exactly the bonus DLC is going to work?

You pre-ordered on GG - Your CK2 and CK2/EU4 Converter will both be GG versions. It won't be a problem for the converter, unless you ever want to use the special Aztec DLC rules (Basically America changes drastically), in which case you'll need to ask someone else on the forum to help you out.

The bonus DLC will be for the platform which you order EU4 on. So if you order on GG, you get the GG CK2 DLC. If you have CK2 on Steam, I'd say cancel it and re-order on Steam.

Because your version of the Converter DLC won't be for the same game version.

The GG version of the converter doesn't work with the Steam DLC's and vice versa.
So if you want the special America that the Aztec DLC offers, you'll need to have both DLCs in the same version.

that would suck. too bad gg doesnt let you choose where you want the coverter, unless its clearly stated you could try to get the steam evrsion from them.

Also I hope everyone above me realizes that EU4 is a steam game no matter where you buy it. (multiplayer uses steamworks and I believe that is also how the modding is going to work)

EU4 is a Steamworks title.
Your CKII is on Steam.
The converter is a DLC for the EU4 Steamworks title.

I don't see how you will have a problem.

The Converter is a CK2 tool, not EU4. It produces EU4 mods from savegames.

Multiplayer will be Steamworks - Mods will be optional Steamworks (You can install mods manually should you choose)

The converter is a DLC for the EU4 Steamworks title.

I don't see how you will have a problem.

EU4 will always be on steam, no matter where you preorder it.
If you preorder EU4 on GG, you'll get a GG CK2, and a GG CK2 converter-to-EU4 DLC
You will not get any other CK2 DLC.

If you want the CK2 converter for Steam in this case, you can buy it separately on steam for 10 dollars.

You can still convert your CK2 games to EU4 without it, but then you will have to do it in the GG version of CK2, and you won't have any possible advantages the DLC give you, such as super-Aztec empires.

The convertor is CK2 DLC. GamersGate only distributes CK2 DLC for the GG version of CK.
