So I've noticed that as of 1.24 the starting rivalry situation has gotten a lot more... repetitive? Especially as some specific nations:
- As Brandenburg, trying to get a start with Bohemia not rivaling you seems impossible. I gave up after 20 (yes 20!) restarts...
- As Aragon, Hungary seems to rival you every single time (bit annoying if you want to go into the Balkans early).
- Those two are the most glaring ones I've seen but other nation also seem to have had their rivalries more streamlined.

I find this change (fairly sure it was much less common before cradle) extremely annoying when trying to get a specific strategy going for a nation, and I also find that it goes against having a varied experience when replaying a nation. I would understand if you did this for historical rivals, yet even as England I seem to get Burgundy as a rival much more consistently than France. I am not sure if it came a unintended change with the AI getting better alliances last patch, or if they just straight up did it as a nerf to specific strategies in some starts. Anyway just saying I find it annoying, even game breaking for some starting nations (rip my plans to PU bohemia :p) and that I hope it is something that can be changed.

I've noticed the same thing. Starting as Brandenburg without Bohemia rivalry is something I gave up trying after 30th (!) attempt and simply proceded slowly eating them when opportunities arose.

Seems like certain alliances are now fixed as well.

The old "just do the same as the AI to get the same as the AI" rule doesn't work anymore.

I really don't get how the criteria for rivalry is determined. When I played with Poland, it was rather erratic in whether the Teutonic Order could be a valid rival in the early years.
