Maybe I just don't know how the Great War works, but the one I'm in now only has the goals "Free Bulgaria" and "Cut Belgium Down" and that's it. I need 101 warscore to do this apparently. Isn't that occupying all the enemy provinces? I'd much rather hurt Russia by making it liberate Poland-Lithuania and maybe nerf France by making it give something up. need another 100 to make Russia do that, and I doubt a peace can be signed with a 201 value or whatnot.

The real WW1 cause Europe's map to be remade, so why can't I enforce all these punishments on my enemies here? This isn't worth fight just for Bulgaria!

You do realize that you don't need to give the AI all the stupid war goals they add, right...? As for what you can do, unless you're in a crisis war than you can separate peace each individual country other than the war leader, so basically you can demand 100 war score worth of demands from every single member of the opposing alliance, that's certainly a lot more than 100 war score worth of war goals in totality.

Is there a way to make wargoals in Great Wars cost less warscore?

They already do by default, you don't need to do anything special.

Yeah my war was a crisis war :( and the cause of freeing bulgaria went from 67 warscore to get and actually increased to 89 to get! WTF I thought the cost went DOWN when you occupied the land!

You need to raise your Jingoism for each war goal you add though, and in some of my games that can take a year or more to get the necessary Jingoism to add another goal. In the meantime if you've won the AI just keeps spamming you with peace offers, and if you don't accept after you've clearly won eventually it forces you to white peace.

I've been trying to understand how you get Jingoism. Any idea? It seems to be dependant on the outcome of war; for exemple, it seem to increase when I occupy a province. It increases slowly when at war with a low war exhaustion. It also helps to have a ruling party that supports jingoism or having high revanschism.

Not in great wars, or is it just crisis wars, not 100% sure. In those cases Jingoism doesn't matter. Also, in order to get automatic white peace you need to be at war for like 5 years or something like that, you never want to drag wars on for that long as at that point no war will be profitable, no matter how many war goals you added. So the automatic white peace feature shouldn't really be a bother either.

Its only happened once to me when I was North German Federation fighting Austria, France, and the Italian minors in France and Austria's sphere. I was trying to get jingoism up to add a 2nd wargoal so I could take the 2 remaining German minors from Austria with the plan on forming Germany then pounding Austria down to secondary power later and get them to join me. I couldn't get enough jingoism to add that 2nd wargoal, whcih pushed back my creation of Germany considerably because the game forces me to white peace and I got nothing. I ended up reloading a save and accepting peace since there was no way I could get more out of that war.

It rarely comes up, but it for me it was only that one time, but it is something to keep in mind that you may not always be able to get enough jingoism to get all the wargoals you want, at least in a particular war. The game lasts a long time so you can always go back for more once truce expires.
