Getting MAX IC for Sov's

Greetings All, my first post.
I play Armageddon 1.3b and am trying to play a '36 game as the soviets and as per the wiki.
I'm trying to get max IC by early '40 so I then can produce motor/armor divisions to send at Germany while they're still involved in France. I'm only able to get about 480ish IC by then by barely upgrading some units for the Winter war in '39 and only producing factories till early '40. Is that on the low side or is it fine? Also, with a starting excess of energy,metal and rares, should I be trading them off for supplies so I can devote more IC to buliding factories in the beginning? The wiki says ONLY build factories till Feb '40 but that way won't give me IC in time to build motor/armor to hit Germany while they're still involved with France?
Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Welcome.

You should trade for as many supplies as you possibly can to reduce the IC you need for supplies so you can build more factories. If you want to hit Germany in '40 you will have to make do with 1 run less of IC (at least) than the wiki says; "most" people wait until Germany attacks in '41.
