See thread title; is there any way to do this? I assumed the NF "Proclaim Rival Government" would be tied to my ruling ideology, so by boosting fascism and allying with Japan, I could use PRG to declare myself the "pro-fascist" faction of the Chinese Civil War, and claim China for the black and brown. But I've gone down the tree and it seems like I can only use PRG if I'm at >50% support for Communist or Unaligned? I hope this means I don't have to do something really gamey, like restarting and timing my flip to fascism to the moment after I unlock PRG, because I was really looking forward to playing as a Warlord and I'd hate to mar the drama with exploits.

So, as a Warlord minor, what other options do I have for getting cores on the rest of China?

I am curious to this as well, do fascist warlords really have to invite a communist advisor to get a rival government? I agree with getting autonomy after a long time but the focus seems counterintuitive

Personally, I hope that's a bug. The path goes hand in hand with a friendship of the Japanese and their - ingame - Fascism ideology. Everything in this tree begs for Fascism as another possible solution, especially, because there's already a separate branch in the focus tree made for Communism.

Another strange thing is that the independent warlord tree is the only one that doesn't get rid of your 2 negative spirits which means you have no PP most of the game and you share part of it with the communists so its not even that unique.

Yep, i think there should be a chance for a Fascist Warlord to unify china. So bad that there isn't a Fascist tree for China.

I heard someone on reddit say that you could get cores somehow if you took china back... but is this true? Also I find it somewhat annoying that the flags of warlords don't change to the main china tag at all if they get their focus tree. And tags like "free yunnan empire" are a bit... cringy/immersion breaking. Is it too much to ask that they be based on something like the blueshirts, or better yet the fourth guanxi clique right nextdoor?

Unless it's fixed in the next patch, i'll be considerating making a fascist tree focus for the warlords with the shared china tree. I'm already planning to make a flag so the first fascist Warlord becomes Blue Shirt China or Spiritual China.

This can't be overlooked.

As Guangxi I went down the Proclaim Rival Government path as an independent unaligned nation and got cores on everything.

You government party was Kuomintang?

If that's the grey party then yes.

That's possible because you stayed Kuomintang since the beginning of the game. What we are talking about is when the Warlord goes fascist (or brown party). The other thing that annoys me is the fact that you can't be opposition and communist at the same time (red party) and there's no "Communism of the Rise"

I'm pretty sure if I took the Fascist advisor, it would have had no effect on whether or not I got cores by going down the Rival Government branch.
