The ability to support the independence of a nation under a PU or else have your own independence supported as a subject under a PU (e.g. Sweden and Norway in 1444).

Support the independence, which is almost immanent if You play as vassal/lesser partner (not counting Sweden). Apart from that, i don't think that You loose anything.

Playing as a CN too (pre-independence Thriteen Colonies for example), I think.

I don't own CoP, and as I have no particular desire to play as a Native American or get a Random New World, I would only ever consider getting it for the Support Independence mechanic.

Also, the OPM natives in the Americas migrate with CoP, which (along with some of the other features) makes for a more variable and interesting New World once you discover it. You're not always stumbling across that same two-province Micmac or Abenaki (whichever one conquered the other).
