So, I decided to add a new country today. After following guides and getting some error messages, I seemed to have fixed it all but one thing...

Whenever I load Vicky, it freezes on the loading screen and the following message appears: "Critical Error! Palette -- 'gfx/palette/9.bmp' not found!"

Then, I went to check the "palette" folder and to my surprise, there was no "9" file. Well then, I tried to replace my current palette folder with my back up's. No go. I replaced the whole gfx file. Same error. I tried removing the flag for the custom country. The same message.

I'm completely out of ideas. Any help is appreciated. :(

Bump.

Should I just re-install? I tried looking around for someone with a similar error, and I had no luck...

If nothing else works, then reinstallation is always a good idea. You might have made a change to another file that causes the game to look for a 9.bmp file in that particular folder. Undoing the changes to all of the files that you have altered should fix the problem, but that might be impossible without reinstallation or it might be easier to reinstall the game.

Dumb me. :eek:o

I went with your train of thought, and removed the country's line at country.csv. Vicky loaded just fine. Then, I went to add the line again, and it worked, too. But that's because I previously assigned the country with an inexistent color (Yellow, when there's only light and dark of it).

Thanks for the help. :p
