Hi,

I am king vassal in ERE and border Hungary to the north. There's this Hungarian duchy on my border with an old duke. I matrilineally betrothed my daughter or granddaughter to the dukes grandson, to the first son of his first son to be precise.

Current situation is that my son-in-law was old enoguh to marry and is now in my court as it was matrilineal marriage. Old duke die and his son took over, so my son-in-law is heir to the duchy, or sometimes the county (I guess it's something about their inheritance rules it keeps changing, but usually it says "Heir to the duchy").

So I suppose this is opportunity, but not sure what to do. In any way my kin will end up ruling that duchy (well, unless there are some unexpected deaths to happen). If for example his child gets to inherit from him, another sibling would again be of my dynasty, so then I could invite him and press his claims and he would be my vassal after the war with Hungary? This is however long term and waiting for correct setup. And it would also mean defeating one relative for another, which is not very RP.

On the other hand if I land him he just might get that duchy into my realm (and into ERE's realm, but doesn't matter). I suppose I must make him a duke so he does't inherit higher rank title. Can Hungary prevent me from this, like set some rule so inheritance not works if heir is already landed in another realm?

Also, since I'm the King, I can give my Viceroyality title to vassal. Maybe this is better to do because you easier get it back, if this will work at all? I know that's Duke level, only different in ERE, but will it work?
