I have yet to play a multiplayer game but have some friends who are curently learning the game. I plan on playing Germany and we were going to play the 36 scenerio. I was wondering how difficult it can be for Germany to take France if the UK player takes control of French units and also sends nearly every division possible into France prior to Germany going to war against France. It seems if a player wanted to they could get 75 divisions or more into France and really make it difficult for a German player to capture Paris.

I think multiplayer especially in the 36 scenerio would strongly favor the Allies. Since the allied player knows that a war is coming unlike real history they could really disrupt early German success. If Germany cant take France I cant see them having any real chance at winning the war. Any input on this would be appreciated.

Also is there any way to play all the powers without just assuming military control? For example me playing Germany, Japan, and Italy while a friend of mine plays UK, France, Russia, and the US?

No, you can only control one country at a time, exept if you have military control. About how the 36 scenerio is hard for the axis I would suggest having a player take the Soviet Union. When you have the three sides in a game it really adds a totally new element to the game. Try it and you will see what i mean.;)

Well we are going to have 4 players. We thought we would have Germany, Japan, UK, and Russia. We figured Germany would assume military control of Italy and UK would assume military control of France and eventually US when they join the allies. The thing is we basically see the Soviet player as an eventual Allied player so its going to be difficult to convince the player to play Russia as if they are a complete separate entity. We want to play this as a WWII game. Not some shit where Russia is allied with Germany or something like that. I mean I will be playing Germany and enentually I would attack the USSR when I feel like the threat from England is minimal.

It can be made impossible for Germany to take France if the UK player does what you say, plus pumps France full of steroids (tech sharing). It is especially easy for the Allies to do if more than one player is pumping France full of steroids. The consensus of those who play a lot of multiplayer is that the Axis have almost no chance of winning against decent Allied players who don't make glaring mistakes. That doesn't keep many of us from trying repeatedly.

The allies can load France with more than Just UK troops.. They can bring canada, anzac and SA troops as well, with the addition of the belgians the germans will soon be facing close to 250 divs over a narrow front.....

To beat that Germany has to rely on quality and focus on tank research early... + coordinate closely with Italy...

Let's not forget about Japan. A competent Japanese player should at a minimum be able to tie down the Anzac forces, and until the USA joins the war, put pressure on the Indian defenders.
Ofcourse house rules also balance the situation (No tech share to non-allied nations etc.), and if the Allies put all their strength in defending France, it might be fun to invade Scotland...

We play with no tech sharing, and then taking France is no problem at all. Just build some mech inf and it is a nice stroll to Paris. I guess allowing tech-sharing would change that picture drastically.
