Germany, VH/F, 1941.

Hey, I recently played a game of Germany on the aforementioned difficulty level after almost a year of not playing this game. It started well, Poland went down without a hitch, France was taken out in two weeks in '40, and a successful Seelowe meant that the Allies were pushed out of Europe by July of '40. Things were going well, Germany was on top, and finally the summer of '41 rolled around and I declared my invincible war against the Reds. By Winter of '41, I am proud to say... I've been pushed back to the Oder. They had atleast 60 divisions in each bloody province! Also, for some reason, 2:1 odds of German to Russian is still a failed attack! Dear god! What the hell can I do? Every year I wait they just keep getting stronger, and I'm down to 11 manpower in my successful attempt to keep them out of Germany. Gah!

I Was in the same position as you are in my current game...
man, those soviets pushed me back...
the key for me was signing peace with nationalist china...
This gave Japan a lot of free divisions, so they started conquering the far east, as well as india... This meant a lot of troops would be diverted there... I also took over military control of Romania and Hungary (the idiots just stood there...) With their around 70-80 divisions, I started oushing back the soviets from the south... I also influenced finland till the point they joined my alliance...
Unless you get the soviets to fight on multiple fronts, there are little chances I think... THey have A LOT of manpower...
I also used V2 rockets to anihilate infrastructure where they had the most divisions... they loose organisation that way and moove slower... should buy you some time to focus on some weak part of the frontline...
And push them back simultaniously... If you try to break the frontline with a spearhead attack, you will only find your troops surrounded and anihilated
