Germany Tech Team: Remove Albatross?

I just watched a video about the German fighter plane, Focke-Wulf 190 and in that video, it stated that the Focke-Wulf company, absorbed the Albatross company in September 1931. This was surprising to me.

Looking at the German Air tech in retrospect, they already dominate, do they need albatross? Or am I jumping the gun here and they survived this 'merger'?
