Explanation:

Today i was playing my first game as Venezuela, i got bored as hell, there is not much to do with em, so i joined the allies to invade something with my Marines and Transports.

In January 29 of 1946, i saw Germany near defeated fighting over its own land after loosing Berlin, then i decided to play as Germany to see how bad the situation was, at that moment i didnt tough i would last to the end of the campaing, that is why i dont have a lot of screens of the ingame process, i just have the begining and end scenario screens so you could see :).

No cheats or save game modifications were made to get the results of this campaign, HOI1 + CORE both last versions was used to do this.

Get Ready to FIGHT:

24 of January 1946

At dawn, Soviet artillery opened up an intensive bombardment of the Chancellery and neighbouring buildings. The battle for Berlin would in all probability be over that evening.
The Fuhrer just told Martin Bormann he is going to commit sucicide this afternoon.
Bormann went to General Krebs, he asked him for some help in making a plan to take Hitler out of berlin to Essen, away from Russian Armies.
Krebs couldn't believe the Fuhrer was going to take his own life, he madly defined some defensive plans to ensure an stop to the russian armies with what was left of the German Armies, then he ensured Bormann there was a secure way to take Hitler out of Berlin, all they needed is the Fuhrer permission.
The Fuhrer was very dissapointed for the result in the war, but when he saw Krebs plans he gain hope again, Germany is going to fight until the last man he said!

In cuestion of hours Berlin and the surroundings was evacuated under heavy Russian Artillery fire.

Hans Krebs just fininshed the new offensive plans, that will ensure the survival of the Reich, then he contacted Bormann to make the the plan presentations to the Fuhrer.

This was the last offensive the Reich could afford before lossing the war.

The Offensive

Operation Geparde as it was called, consisted on 3 main battle plans:

First of all a Reinforced Heeresgruppe Vistula will set up the defenses along the Elbe River up to Lübeck, this will hopefully put a halt on the Red Army Advance.

Second Heeresgruppe C will put a halt on the Allied invasion Advance in the Alsace line, then they will assist the V. PAnzer-Armee they will ensure a counter attack to recapture north Holland from the Allies, this will halt the Allies operations that treat our north weak defensive lines.

Third Heeresgruppe B will hold the defenses along the Danube and Konstanz, later they will assist II. Panzer-Armee with the hopes to recapture the importantscity of Munich and Nuremberg, to rally more man and resources and then prepare to an offensive over Austria.

Last but not least, Heeresgruppe Vistula will coordinate a massive attack with III and IV Panzer-Armee, to recapture Dresden and Rostock and the later combined forces will reconquer Berlin.
To obtain this the encircled Heeregruppe A over west Poland would simulate a massive offensive, leading the attention of the russian armies far from Berlin.
After this is obtained most of the man should destroy their tanks or other equipment and sneak back trough the enemy lines, or fight to death to the last man.

All the Germans await for the Fuhrer response, he must decide with no time, the sooner as this plan is put in motion, the more chances we have of success.

What will be the fuhrer response?

The Fuhrer cabinet is meeting at the new stablished Essen Headquarters.
Krebs is explaining the offensive plans to Bormann, Von Brauchitsch, Himmler and Hitler (Goring and Donitz couldn't assist to this meeting due the delicate situations in many frots).

After listening to the plan in deep detail the Fuhrer concludes "if this is what you promised me will save our beloved fatherland, i must aprove it with no delay, our days are counted, and my trust in our faith is long gone, i leave our future of our nation in your hands".

The plan in Motion

Without wasting any more minute, Krebs move to the communication center, and issue its first orders:

The V. Panzer-Armee must retreat from Arlon at once, they are badly needed in the offensive to come in north Holland, then they will move in position to follow the offensive.

The II. Panzer-Armee should start preparations to Strike at Munich encircling the American Army at Nuremberg.

Heeresgruppe A and I. Panzer-Armee should hold ground at ease for the next month, as the russians seems more busy trying to move trough the Elbe river defenses.

The remaining army Groups should hold ground as planned in the first part of the offensive.

Rommel was already sent with all the remaining army corps to reinforce Heeresgruppe Vistula yesterday, improving fortifications and our bad defensive situation in the West.

Krebs meet with Hitler to insist that we should enroll what's left of the civilian male population in a call to defend their Fatherland!

All male over 10 years old should take arms to defend the Fatherland!

Almost a month have passed, and the German armies managed to stop both Allied and Soviet advances.

The new plan drawn by Krebs on its first stage, the invasion of north Holland.

Utretch is the most important Allied army base in the area, a lot of supplies required for the continuation of the war might be taken with a surprise attack.

General Hermann Hoth placed as commander of the new V. Panzer-Armee, will conduct this offensive plans, backed up by Heeresgruppe C wich will encricle the enemy from the south.

Panzers rolling once again, this time the objective is Utretch.

This is the first or last German Offensive to retake its Power Status back.

The German high command is on a complete halt expecting for the results of this offensive.

Hitler wait anxious for the news on the front, the Operation Geparde Phase I was on its way, bad news were comming from some fronts, the V. Panzer-Armee had already secured Utretch allied depots but got encircled by an allied counter offensive.

Then on his surprise Marshall Krebs come to inform him of the news on the front..
"Mein Fuhrer, Heeresgruppe C succesfully assaulted Rotterdam, this will close the gap of allied armies in the area, the enemy remains are heding north to fortify the city of Amsterdam, but the V. Panzer-Armee was sent there after their flanks got secure, most allied resistance is now over in the area."

Hitler shocked by this news, couldn't belive his fortune was back again, all hope isn't lost yet, he thanks Krebs with a big smile and ask him to send congratulations to Marshall Hermann Hoth!, commander of the V. Panzer-Armee.

A happy Fuhrer is a Happy Reich

Back

First i want to apologise for the delay, i was out on holidays, here on the south summer holidays are somewhere from January to March.

Ok im back, i won't let this die i promese, this is my first AAR and i want to finish it.

One more thing to tell, somehow in this game JAPAN entered in war against USSR somewhere in the first days of my campaign (January 1946 when i took control of Germany), this is weird, might be something i generated, but when i started JAP was axis but not at war with the USSR.

11 March 1946

Location Essen Fuhrer Headquarters

In this moment of Hopes more good news came from arround the World.

Minister Joachim von Ribbentrop enters the Fuhrer HQ at his bunker in Essen to inform him of some great news:

"Mein Fuhrer, Japan decided to break the neutrality pact with the soviet union and decided to fight the evil Bolshevism in the side of the Axis, even when their armies aren't in great shape, this will surely helps our plans for the future".

Will the might of the Japanese help our devastated Nation?

italy_mair_1.jpg

Location Somewhere in Würzburg (temporal II. Panzer-Armee HQ)

General Robert Martinek, now in charge of the renewed II. Panzer-Armee, is having a meeting with Marshall Krebs, who took a plane overnight to check the last steps before the mayor invasion of Geparde Phase II.

After a short briefing with details Krebs said this words:
"In the entire history of our nation there was never a time where our bravery, courage and valour was needed the most.
What we do here will change generations to come, there is no place for failure Herr Martinek."

interesting ! ! IRL, the Soviets refused to renew that pact with Japan in the summer of 1945 ! ! ;)
