I started a 1936 scenario as Germany, and kind of jumped the gun, capturing France, Belgium, Netherlands and UK main islands by April 1937

However, now Czechoslovakia and Austria won't be annexed to the Reich, and Belgium has not had its capitulation event (30% partisan instead of 2%)

Is there a way to trigger this? Or is it because of the way I have conducted myself

For those anschluss events to fire Germany needs to be NOT at war with anyone, obviously going to war with the allies from the start is not a good idea, since you miss out on a whole bunch of good cores. You could however still trigger them I think by annexing all the allies before the events are supposed to fire somewhere in 1938, but that is very unlikely. Besides that you could cheat by using F12 and typing in event ****, where **** are the event's id-numbers.

Interesting. Is there a list for event numbers somewhere?

At the moment I've captured half the USSR, but they have not sought peace. It would be good to know if I can reach some sort of agreement with the USSR on my own (as Germany), or whether Japan needs to be in the Axis for this to happen (TC is at 1600/500)

Whenever I let Japan join, they DoW USA, which is something I'd rather postpone, since Canada is a puppet

Event numbers can be found in their respective files, look in the hoi2\db\events folder. The files are named by country and in the hoi2 text files, you can read in them in any ordinary text editor like Notepad.

Getting to force the Soviets into Bitter Peace requires a host of conditions. First of all the USSR must NOT control Leningrad, Moscow, Stalingrad, Baku and Sverdlovsk and you as Germany are NOT allied to Japan and NOT at war with Japan and you have not signed the tri-partite pact with them, which appears to be the case here. Furthermore Paris needs to be controlled by either Germany or Vichy and Germany cannot be at war with Italy either.

If the above conditions are met there will be a 5% chance each week of the event firing.
