Germany not invading anything..

So I picked up HoI3, not having played for half a year. Started game as Japan everything going smooth, then after Germany invades Poland they push the Danish back to Copenhagen, then stay there doing nothing.

Now the German armies have been standing outside Copenhagen and have not touched any other country other than Poland, and it's... 1941. How can I solve this? I can declare limited war and bomb the hell out of Copenhagen see if that changes anything, but I don't want a war already with everyone..

FYI I noticed this bug in February 1940, so I saved the game there and just full speeded ahead to 1941 to see if Germany would ever do anything (cause I don't want to play a bugged game).

How can I fix this?

The reason why I stopped playing HoI3. The game decided that playing the WWII is not fun anymore.

Is Germany at war with the allies at least? When Japan attacks I suppose it will break the stalemate (but the The Pacific War chain of events will be broken). Besides, the other option is restarting and hope for the WWII to happen.

Yea Denmark is in the Allies and Germany is at war with them (but not NL or Belgium). But does not try to touch any other nation.

Never happened to me. And I am a long time player. Germany is scripted to launch danzig or war. What's more, if you are at a war with one of the allies, you should be with all of them. So war with allied Denmark means war with UK. Maybe a bug?

Probably Germany is at war with UK and France but stalemated in the Denmark Strait and in the Maginot Line. Germany will only declare war on Belgium after taking out Denmark, so nothing happens. No solution as far as i know.

I mean why is it that they're stalled in Denmark?

My only guess is that the UK or FRA AI keep blocking the straits and so the German army can't cross to Copenhagen - and maybe their TP fleet was destroyed and so they cant cross or invade. You could see evidence of that by watching German divisions fail to cross again and again - or if their production queue is full of TPs.

But still you've got two options.

A. Tag switch to Denmark and delete all of their land armies - they should fall easily at that point and the event chain will continue as normal - though that would be quite a shame to take away their nascent victory!

B. Tag switch to Germany, with the game paused, and declare war on BENELUX - that should get the AI to start fighting France properly with or without having taken Denmark.

To tag switch just load up, pause the game, hit the tilde key ` and then type in tag GER or tag DEN - then once you've tried to fix the game by doing whatever, type tag JAP and that should get you back to playing japan, then you should be able to unpause as normal.
