Germany AI and Italy

Hi, the "problem" I have exists both in DAIM and normal DD, but maybe since you're AI specialists you could do something about it - when I play as Italy I join the Axis in 36 (all those blueprints from Germany) trouble is that when start attacking France they always go through Italy's borders, never use a different path... now, that's a really bad thing to do from the point of view of their interests (it does benefit Italy a lot, but they should think more of their own fatherland)... Would it be possilbe to tweak German AI so that it wouldn't do that? unless you find its choice a good one...

Never saw that myself as I tend to play more historical, but it doesn't sound like a good choice, no. To be honest, I don't know of a way to stop this right now - except not being allied to Germany as Italy at the time.

You can significantly reduce the risk of this by dow'ing Belgium shortly after Germany has annexed Poland. When i have done that the german ai tends to go that way aswell. Just do it before the AI sends to many troops to Italy but not before they have enough forces close to the belgian border.

Problem with the German AI (atleast with Vanilla AI) are that it is planning to attack france and the Low countries in may 40. But in the mean time it sends a lott troops to Italy to help.

Anyways easiest fix is to dow Belgium.
