I'm quite new to Darkest Hour and WIF 2 Gold.
I googled but I couldnt find any strategyguide. Please link one to me if one is available.
I have a few questions:
1. You are supposed to play Germany starting in 1933 in WIF 2, right?
So if you want to play another nation, you should choose DH Full instead of WIF 2 ?
Even on normal Germany starting in 1933 is much harder than in HoI 2, AoD or HoI 3.
I like to play these games only going the historical route.
And start the wars against the different countries when they historically happened.
I have some strategy questions:
2. As Germany starts with alot of dissent around 50 I think.
Do you think it's better to reduce it at once or start building at once?
There are two decisions you can get early "Economic Recovery Plan" and "Issue Mefo Bills", that you need 500 money each to enact.
So maybe the best is to max consumer goods until you have 1000 money before you start building.
3. It's tempting to start build IC. As it is many years until the war starts.
What do you think is a good amount to build? In my test runs I think I need to start upgrading and building divisions in 1936 to have a chance to break France.
4. How are you supposed to do with diplomacy?
Are you supposed to invite Japan, Italy, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria through the diplomacyscreen or that will happen through event/descisions?
If you need max relations for it, you need to spend alot of money, with the decision "diplomatic campaign" before the war.
5. It seems to me that Germany is limited by IC and not by manpower as they are in the other (HoI 2, AoD, HoI 3). Because you get alot of manpower when you mobilize.
Do you think it's so? Or you think it's worth waiting to wait to longer the conscription and doing recruitment campains?
6. How do you handle the airdefence of Germany. I noticed the new airscramble mission it seems efficient but it has a very short range.
Do you use that or the airsuperiority mission?
7. How many divisions do you need ?
It seems you need around 150 divisions september 1939 and around 200 in may 1940.
Do you think this number is too high or too low and how many will you need in the summer of 1941 ?
8. Upgrading costs quite alot. Do you think its better to build new infantry instead of upgrading the old?
Do you think its worth running long lines of older stuff (i guess they lose the gearingbonus when you upgrade them) ?
9. You have some decisions to make. Regarding the airforce and navy and industry.
What do you think is best to choose there?
