Just kind of curious as to why the two prewar German prewar pre-dreadnoughts (Schleswig-Holstein and the Schlesien) are rated so well. They each only had four 27 centimeter 40 caliber guns but they are rated higher than the Deutchland class heavy cruisers in the mod. The Deutchland class heavy cruisers each had six 28 centimeter 52 caliber guns. The Schleswig-Holstein's guns had a max range of 18,800 meters. The Deutchland class heavy cruisers' guns had a range of 42,600 meters.
The Deutchland class heavy cruisers had a max speed of 28 knots and the Schleswig-Holstein had a max speed of 19 knots.
After WW1 the Germans were not allowed to keep any dreadnought class ships. They were only allowed to have pre dreadnoughts. And the pre dreadnoughts can not hold a candle to a 1930's heavy cruiser. It's a 1900 designed ship compared to a 1930 designed ship. The maximum displacement on the pre-dreadnoughts was 14,218 tons vs the cruiser's displacement of 12,630 tons.
The armor on the predreadnoughts doesn't really count because both of them rode too low in the water and the armor belt was submerged. The Deutchland class heavy cruisers had a much better designed armor belt.
The mod rates the predreadnoughts as BC's and they probably only rate as about as well as a CL. They should really not rate as well as that. They should have their own ratings and not be able to be built.
A good spread of torpedoes from a destroyer would tear the pre dreadnoughts up. By WW1 standards the pre dreadnoughts were useless, much less by WW2 standards.
