Looking at the map released in videos so far, you can see in the one used in this one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4A66treWax0) at 2:02 that Eastern Germany as a state includes the Polish area and the East German state from the postwar. Since it seems that parts of states are useless by themselves how could we have a historically accurate postwar settlement regarding the change in Polish and German borders?

East Prussia (Germany) is a part of "Western Poland" at the game's start. Also the "states" you are referring to are being used to control air units. Not to determine territory. I'm pretty sure they said the states would be placed for game-play purposes and not political boundaries.

I don't think there would be any problem partitioning Germany historically.

What I think we need instead is to be able to precisely demand what provinces(probably states) that we want. For example, after defeating FRA as GER the player can choose to either only annex Alsace-Lorraine(which should be German cores anyways) or enforcing the Neuordnung(which was what Hitler intended to annex after the was. More specifically: Franche-Comte, Calais, French Flanders, and everything north of the Somme).

Yes, there needs to be a better way to partition the spoils of war. It drives me crazy how the computer decides to split things sometimes. There should be some ranking of participants efforts and then they can choose what they want (or potentially defer to have nothing). I had a game as Italy once were I somehow was given France instead of the Germans. Kinda ruined the game for me as I then had to spend the next couple years trying to build out a huge defensive force to hold France. Also in this case I had helped but the Germans had still done most of the hard work (maybe I took the final VP that broke france, but victory was mainly achieved by the germans. In this game I would have loved to gain a few French areas / colonies ut I did not want to get all of France nor did I deserve it.
