Indeed - Id suspect Goering as economy minister would be properly categorized as "corrupt kleptocrat" and any German player starting in 39 would chomp at the bit to get Speer (presumbly an "Admin Genius") in 42-43. But politically Hitler felt he had to get rid of Schacht who was no longer with the program by 37. Perhaps this is modeled through loyalty??Originally posted by BiB
U can replace Schacht By Göring as armaments minister later on but that's not really a good thing.

I trust, though, that the Germans have an easier time of it than the rest? One of Hitler's greatest weaknesses, after all, was the often unwise replacement of quite accomplished and experienced personnel. I've rather been looking forward to sacking some ministers, and keeping others on who I felt got a bum rap historically.

U can't replace someone when there's no suitable replacement ...

But if someone's REALLY getting on your tits - perhaps your security minister has reached the level of disloyalty where he's knocking off other cabinet members - can't you replace them with a generic, talentless 'suit'? There's never any shortage of those...

Yes, I'm just voicing the hope that there ARE suitable replacements (at least in the sense that they're available in the game) in greater supply for Germany.![]()

Darn. Historically Beck was one of the less blameworthy Germans, but in game the last guy you need in 1936 is a defensive specialist.

IF there were historical possible and plausible replacements then they are there. Don't expect an efficient sociopath to be available for the UK for example as Minister of Security.

He said an EFFICIENT sociopath
As re the 'suit' issue, I'd rather have someone with a skullful of gruel in charge of my intelligence ministry than someone so diametrically opposed to my regime he is working against me and the better members of my cabinet. I mean, would you keep even the most brilliant intelligence minister on the payroll if he erased your best interior minister?
