I have never seen an uberGenoa but I have seen them eat up Barcelona, portions of Croatia, and Provence more often than not. That handy coastal CB eh? They usually aren't too big of a problem aside from their mercenary hordes and they are pretty easy to conquer in most cases.

I've seen some pretty huge Genoas.

My real questions are:

1) why does Venice get big so much more rarely?

2) Sometimes there's a de jure Kingdom of Venice because the Duchy of Venice drifts out of Italy and into titular Serene Republic (ie Kingdom) of Venice. But if Genoa conquers Venice, Genoa will never form the Serene Republic even though it is formable. Why's that?
