What do you think about the fact that Genoa gets buffed in every expansion? Aliens?

Proof:

-Res Publica => Merchant Republics OP
-Art of War => He has 2 more provinces (Lesbos i suppose and another one) And crimea gets nerfed.

Francophobes, France got buffed, he gets one more province Languedoc was split.
Castillians, Castile got more provinces (2 or 3).

I couldn't notice more changes in the map except Theodosian dark blue. And north africa and aztec split.

A CN doesn't get the government form of its overlord upon formation though (was it changed in 1.6/1.7?), what's your point?

CNs transfer 50% of their TP to their overlord.

Nations in trade nodes get a bonus to goods produced of 1.0 x (MR trade share).

So if your CNs have (before transfer) 100% control of all new world trade nodes, they transfer 50% of the total trade share to you, so each CN province gets +0.5 goods produced.

This boosts your income two ways:
1) More trade value is generated and moves downstream, allowing you to earn more trade income where you collect.
2) Your CNs get more trade income and more production income, which translates to more tariffs for you.

Me too. Every time I play Genoa my income isn't good enough and I get DOW'd by Ottomans, Aragon, and France once they get their stupid Italian missions.
