Hello everyone. Since I have been reading up on Latin American history lately, I'm a bit hooked on the entire topic. It's obvious that most Latin American countries were not significant enough in WW2 and probably do not catch enough attention to justify spending the time and resources to create unique focus trees for them, but I was wondering whether it could be interesting to create a generic Latin American focus tree with very small deviations for each country. For example a focus that creates a wargoal for a neighbouring country. Argentina might get one for Uruguay, Bolivia for Paraguay, Peru for Bolivia (which used to be a part of Peru). Or maybe something with a more cultural background like a focus that goes along the lines of "acknowledge indigenous culture", which could me mutually exclusive with "affirm Hispanidad", or something like that.

I don't know if this is something that people would be interested in, or how difficult that would be to do, but I think this a way to add a lot of flavour to plenty of countries with comparably little effort.

I'm sure the Latin American countries will eventually get a DLC built around them - Brazil gets a decent amount of players from what I understand and based off the last dev diary it seems like 35% of games are with non-top 10 countries (Germany, Soviet Union, Italy, France, USA, Japan, UK, PRC, China, Hungary).

Plus it's probably one of the more easily packageable country packs after the USSR and Italy expansion(s) aside from the Nordics and Middle East.

That may be useful if one is playing a Latin American country, but many larger ones do have a focus tree for example, Mexico, Brazil for example. But outside events could cause havoc in a SP game. For example I have had Honduras join the Axis in one game and El Salvador join the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere in another. Both happened in 1937-8, before the Allies/Axis conflict started. Either one of these could direct a change of the USA focus.

The devs have said that they plan to have focus trees for every country in the game (at the 1936 start anyway) and that some would be regional focus trees. So it is likely that a few of the south america nations would get focus trees and the rest would have a generic regional focus tree.

If anything, I would make different categories for the Latin American countries.

Central American (shared by Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, and Costa Rica) - Deals with reunification of the USCA.
North Andean (shared by Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, and Ecuador) - Deals with reunification of Gran Colombia.
South Andean (shared by Peru and Bolivia) - Deals with reunification Peru-Bolivia.
Southern Cone (shared by Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay) - Deals with Unification.
Brazil (exclusive for Brazil) - Deals with establishing continental hegemony.

For the most part they would all have similar industrial and rearmament routs. Their political routes would be more flavorful in terms of their geographic location. Most of their gameplay would probably be similar to the Chinese Warlords where you race against the others to get more industry and soldiers while getting claims on your neighbors and receiving foreign support. To make it interesting, any form of reunification or unification should lead to an exponential growth in a regional coalition against said country. An example would be an Argentina that unifies with Uruguay and conquers Chile and Paraguay. They would then have a Peru and Bolivia feeling pressured to join a coalition led by Brazil to stop Argentine expansion.

I think that only both Brazil and Argentina only the only South American countries that I see totally own trees and unique in that region the rest should use a shared tree similar to that of the Chinese warlords but more extensive

I agree that most countries in the Americas, not counting the USA, Canada, and Mexico that already have trees, should have a Generic Tree. However, if some were to get Unique Trees, then I would say Brazil (closest point in the Americas to Africa, which was an active Theatre, and the only country to send troops to the European Theatre), Argentina/Chile (which showed the most support for the Axis Countries), maybe Panama (the Canal, nuff said), and Ecuador/Peru (the 1941 War).
