hi there. im playing a game as The Knights and i just have a couple questions about forming Jerusalem.

i tried to find jerusalem's national ideas on the wiki to compare and see if i wanted them, but the ideas on there say they only apply to an imported game from CK2:

wiki: "Notes: Only received if Jerusalem is imported from CK2. Otherwise, they get generic ideas."

what are the generic ideas? i couldnt find it anywhere.

my other question: i've read a few threads about jerusalem on here and people said its not worth forming UNLESS you start as The Knights or Cyprus, why is that? in my specific situation i dont think im gonna go for it unless those generic ideas are much better than what The Knights get- the europeans are at war with the mamluks but i dont think theyre gonna win.

currently ive taken constantinople and moved my capital there, conquered and cored serbia and bosnia, and won my first war against the turks in 1475 by the skin of my ass: even though the turks had 0 manpower they kept churning out 15 regiment stacks (non-mercs), i had to take out 25 loans for a merc stack for a few years to compete. venice had my back the whole time, otherwise it wouldve been impossible. its a damn fun game so far though.

an unrelated question about venice: is there any trick to getting an A.I. to subsidize you? venice subsidized me once in the beginning of the game when i was about to go into debt but hasn't subsidized me again since then. i notice in my other games venice is usually subsidizing the knights well into the 16th and 17th centuries. im guessing its because im not small anymore and have a decent base tax now.

Knights and Cyprus can form KoJ, effectively tag switching. All other nations instead create an independent KoJ. As far as I know, you keep your ideas as Knights/Cyprus.

Generic ideas = "national ideas", and are hands-down the worst NI set in the game by an impressive margin. They're so bad that if you doubled up every non-tradition NI in the set, it would still only be mediocre.

Generic ideas mean that the nation takes on your previous ideas, so forming jerusalem as the knights is better due to their superior idea set. Do not confuse them with default/national ideas, which just suck. You can only form jerusalem as the knights or cyprus, any other tag and jerusalem is spat out as a vassal.

And when they're spat out as a vassal, they just get the horribad National Ideas.
