I thought your analysis interesting. But one should not compare Techs and Clerks looking just for energy credits.
I disclaimed earlier that the analysis was fairly limited. The main purpose of it was to disprove the claim that clerks make techies obsolete in terms of energy production, so I compared it to the highest energy-producing trade policy.

One could do a massive economic analysis on this stuff, and easily take days if not weeks. But that's not for this thread.

"Unemployment problems" are not something I thought existed, with so many buildings that can support 5 or 7 or 10 specialists.
During a recent playthrough I was playing tall to check out how that felt in 2.2; I only had around 6 planets. I didn't have the exotic resources necessary to keep a ton of specialist buildings opened on every planet, but once the planets were full I found my population running into unemployment and overpopulation problems. Clerks helped with the issue.

What were your pops? I can imagine it being a problem at 110+, and if you were playing tall, then you probably got there.

Oh yeah. It started out as an attempt at a life seeded single planet challenge, but that proved very difficult and it became pretty easy to expand once my xenophilia and the massive immigration pull of my homeworld led to immigrants who could colonize other planets. Come to think of it, constant influxes of immigrants probably contributed to my explosively high population. I think it's fair to say every planet was at like 100+ yeah, but then there weren't many planets.
