Dear Fellow Pals,

I have a semi-successful mini city that now grows to 100k+ population. What I want to ask are:

1) What leads to Commercial demands? Reason I ask is that I have so far only a handful of High Density Commercial Buildings with 2 being skyscrapers and one requires around 160 while the second requires around 300 employees. I have another 2-3 low rise high density buildings and that is it. No more demand. All the area are already level 3. I do have tons and tons of skyscrapers Offices though and using one of the downloading office building model, it requires 900+ employees! :(

2) From point 1, I have not seen any demand for Commercial anymore hence how do I grow my Commercial and hence Tourism/Leisure?

3) I have all specialized industries running naming Farm, Forestry, Ore and Oil. At one stage when my population was just around 55k, there was a super high demand for Industries/Offices which I guess I go for Offices hence leading to point 1 where I had tons on level 3. I believe this is the reason my Farm, Forestry and Oil industries which were in full fledged production suddenly are seeking employees non-stop. I grow my cities further to 80k and still no CIMS seem interested to work in the 3 industries. I even tried to the extend of building High Density Zone just a gap away from both the Farm and Forestry industries and have policy set to "School Out" hoping the CIMS there would not be that "highly educated" so would be willing to work at the nearby farms and forestry. These 2 districts eventually grow and had around 12k population yet still high demand of employees for both Farm and Forestry. It was eventually I downloaded the "Employ Over-Educated Employees" mod that I see the 2 specialize industries slowly filled up and no longer had the employee demand sign hovering above them.

4) At the stage before my city hit 50k, I was doing pretty well financially and the income fluctuate from the then low of 30k to the then high of near 50k. However, now, the low dipped as low as 8k and the high only 25k. Just wondered what happened which so many more high density residents and offices which are all max level 5 and 3 respectively, I expect the earnings to be maintained if not grow higher. This is just out of curiosity as there is no impact to the financial perspective of my saved game as I already have around 17m in treasury and still earning with first time ever never activate any loan.

Sorry for my long queries. Just see if any fellow pals could enlightened me.

Many Thanks & Best Regards,
CCT75.

As to your first questions about commercial demand, that is quite odd that you demand is so low at that population. Unless, you have a ton of parks. I believe (perhaps wrongly) that parks provide entertainment which can substitute commercial demand.

I do have tons of parks though I am not a good designer so I just place them randomly. However, I did a research and found via the below thread it was likely an old bug.

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/no-commercial-demand.842310/

There is still NO DEMAND for Commercial but surprisingly, I did put a few empty plots for High Commercial next to the mentioned 2 sky scrapers and commercial buildings have been built there though low rise. I then tested by plotting a long stretch of High Commercial plots and they started to pop up with commercial buildings and as the area is already level 3 and so more sky scrapers commercial building started to build.
