I just played around with cheats to get used to the update's functions a little bit. But one thing really annoyed me:
After I made my main species Latently Psionic I gave them a colony ship to live on a habitat. Colonisation began, and during it I took the other psionic ascension perk. That event seperated my species into two parts: The true Psionics on the homeworld, and the Latent Psionics on the habitat.
Because I wanted to roleplay that empire shifting towards authoritarianism and dictatorship I took the free_policies command to start discriminating the Latents. But I could not do that because they counted as part of my main species, and you can't discriminate against your main species by making them non-citizens.
This left me with a bunch of pops that were Latent instead of fully Psionic, and I couldn't do a thing about them (I ended up deleting them with the kill_pop command).
So this is why I'd like to propose a change:
We should be able to set seperate rights for differently modified parts of a species.
This would allow for more roleplaying possibilities, more easily assigning certain roles to parts of our population (by turning Argrarian and Industrious species modifications into slaves, while only the scientist part of the species may live normally).
It would also make it possible to get rid of such modifications by purging them.
Furthermore, we could possibly even turn a sector's population into Tasty pops ready to be harvested and eaten by their original variant. Which would cannibalism, but honestly, we are able to do far more horrible things in this game by now.
