I've been wondering about into the GC from 1419 to 1440's or and here is some of the stuff I've just kinda noticed.

1.) Indeed the IA does go with the historical option most of the time.
2.) Random Events are vastly improved.
3.) DP settings, either in the land/navy(I believe) part it says in one area "increase land....decrease land" Just a typo but...ya know.
4.) Often when some other nation breaks something it says "Blah has cancelled whatever it had with us" then it will have the name of the actual nation under it...again nothing much.
5.) The little missionary guy can't dance.
6.) Granting vassals don't stay vassals long...they normal break it after a bit. Mil. vassals seem to stay for awhile though.
7.) The music is better, some of it's a bit odd though.
8.) Some random events have options, unlike EU I where I don't recall any of them having options.
9.) The DP settings are important. On the right settings you can pay barely anything for army. This is of course if you're an inland country that doesn't want/need a navy. You could get off quite cheap this way.
10.) The amount you have to pay for going over army limit should be higher maybe, I dunno.

Well, actually, about the settings, have noticed something. Where it says: "-1.80 for infantry for so and so" I choose it, but get no decrease in the cost of infantry. It wil work for some countries(Muscovy), but not others(Austria, Castille, France). Why? What gives?

BTW, I also forgot one of my fave new features...patrol. I have my british navy constantly circling my island.

The patrol and the national waters features are also among the best new features IMHO. Makes having a navy much more reasonable and realistic. Had my Omani navy patrolling my waters from the Persian Gulf to Zanzibar. It was awesome! (with the exception of the time my navy got zapped into the PTI because of a weird glitch while loading a save game. Happily, it returned when I reloaded...)

Actually, it was near Zanzibar, as the fleet was there just in case Aragon sent its navy around Africa to attack me. Aragon had set up a TP in one of the empty Arabia provinces next door, and I declared war to get rid of it so I could claim it. Attacked it, riled the natives, they drove me out, and they burned it for me (shrug, well, I can tell Aragonese I'm not responsible for its destruction.:D Needless to say, I set up a TP there ASAP) I don't think Aragon knew the route around Africa yet (it was 1445 or so), but Portugal was their ally and I had to be sure (luckily Aragon didn't call upon Portugal to honor the alliance, because the Portuguese already had a presence in the Indian Ocean). I was simply waiting for a white peace, but when I loaded the game up, the fleet was gone, and when I searched for it, it was in the PTI, from what it looked like somewhere in Siberia! (along with, oddly enough, some troops from Muscovy, Kazan, and the Golden Horde  ).

Hmmm. New marketing slogan: Zanzibar - it's the Bermuda of the Indian Ocean! :D
