Hi

English not my native language, sorry im not clear enough.

Well, playing CKII after a couple of yars, got all DLCs (but sunset invasion) and now im facing what I think its a gavelkind sucession bug that spoils the game if trying to climb up social ladder.

Im count of padua, only title, under cognatic-agnatic gavelking sucession law

Well playing as the count of Padua had four children 1 legit son, 1 legit daughter, 1 legitimized bastard daughter and 1 bastard daughter.

My legit son was my heir, and he is also the current count of Verona.

So, I figured, does not matter how many sons I father at spite under gavelkind, since i got only one title to pass on, it will go straight to my elder son. (so next generation I will have two counties)

So I got a second bastard son and decided to legitimize him.

Now it happens he was auto apointed by the AI my heir.

Im preety sure it is a bug.

Now im running Ironmen, and inheritance bugs are a thing that really spoils the game, I cant even fix it via console.

I ve herad that this is a known issue with charlemagne, dont know if its true.

I will ask that this thread be moved to the CKII forum as this is the original CK forum.

Sounds like the inheritance is working as intended. Gavelkind is supposed to divide your titles between your children. So if your heir already has a title, then your title will go to the next eligible child. If you have several titles, the titles will be distributed between all eligible children.

Hope that helps.
