Garrison division templates don't respect equipment restrictions

I set my garrison division template to only use outdated equipment, of which I have lots. I unchecked "use new equipment" in the division designer, and I also unchecked the specific kinds of equipment that I don't want it to use.
Despite this, when I go to equipment details in the occupied territories window, it shows me that my garrisons are soaking up all the newly built equipment. Is this a bug, or did I forget to uncheck something?

I sure hope this can be avoided; Setting garrison supplies lowest from now on so that they get what's left; just can't run out of Equipment now.
(Just started so haven't experienced this effect myself yet)

Half a year has passed... Is there a fix in the works?
Or maybe some workaround? I don't want my garrisons to gobble up my valuable advanced armoured cars, when there are thousands of outdated ones lying around.

Nope, I set them to reserve as soon as I create them, and they still grab all the good stuff.

If it's indeed broken send a bug report and write a post linking to that in the beta thread so we might have a fix still in a later patch of 1.10.

Don't think of it as a bug, think of it as corrupt REMFs keeping all the good stuff for themselves and letting the frontline soldiers twist in the wind, which happened in all armies. Then you can call it a rare nod to historical accuracy!

Yes, this isn’t a bug and while I agree there should be a equipment priority on garrisons, you’ll have to put it on suggestions if you want anything to happen.
