Game's started to crash frequently

Playing as Muscovy, in the 1590's.
Over time I noticed slow down at certain month ends, the game has now taken to crashing whenever I'm involved in a war.


Is this a common occurrence? I have no DLC just the base game by the way.

Correction: The game is in the 1530's, I currently can't go more than 2-3 months without the game crashing.

I'm not sure what's causing this as I get no error reports.

Most current crashes are caused by the ancient heir bug. This will be fixed in 1.8 . If the affected game is Ironman all you can do is put it aside until then; if it's not then the rogue heir can be edited out of the save file - ask for help in User Mods if you need it.

Are you asking whether people who do not buy the AoW DLC will still get the patch? If so, the answer is "yes, of course". Paradox do not make people pay for patches.
