I'm, playing Austria and in a war with Hungary to form a PU. Ive defeated all Hungarys allies, now its just me and my allies vs Hungary. now after 3+ years of war France just jumps in. How is this possible? I'm not a rival of France. I'm not a Great power. and Hungary is not allied with France. so how the fuck do they just jump in a smash the fuck out of me? there shouldn't be any reason that they should be able to get into this war. they don't have me warned, they don't have them guaranteed, i don't fucking get this bullshit. the computer is constantly cheating in this fucking game.

No I believe when a country enforces peace they join the side of the original countries' enemies, there is no separate war (as far as i remember).
when you enforce peace you send a message to the country and if they deny it you join on the other side. this wasnt that. they just jumped in the war, no message, no causi beli. no nothing. this isnt the first time. Ottomans do it all the time and so does france. game cheats all the damn time
Normally (at-least from what i remember) there is no event pop-up it only appears as a notification at the top of the screen, also this doesn't happen all the time and the AI isn't cheating.
It can only be enforce peace from what you describe. I agree it can be unclear when AI enforces peace if you don't check any notification topscreen, there should be a pop up pause by default.
Clearly if only you are having this problem, and are having it constantly it's not "the game cheating" it's a mechanic you don't understand, maybe clam down a bit and stop throwing a tantrum.
Unless some of the information you posted was wrong, the most likely event was France enforcing peace on you.

no, i had form PU causi beli. i attacked with the goal to form a PU. France had no reason at all to join the war and no causi beli on me. there were no pop-ups at all and all of a sudden i noticed after about 2-3 years of the war going on, suddenly France join and decimated my ally Burgundy, Palatine (sp?), it wasn't till i noticed that Burgundy surrendered and had to give up one of their PU that i was like, WTF did France get involved. i have Hungary up to about 55% needed 60%, and suddenly here's France destroying my armies in the normal France way.
I read all my pop-ups, no enforce peace action happened. they just join out of no where, well after the war started.
PU can't happen outside of event while Hungary is in a war.
OP could you just show us the war screen showing warscore?
