I hope when hearts of iron 3 releases Gamersgate server's don't crash:wacko: I am having double thoughts whether to purchase it online with Gamersgate.
I never used gamersgate. Is it reliable? How long do they keep the info, meaning could I be downloading HOI3 in 5 years for my new system? Do they have a copy protection scheme for HOI3?

You can keep the downloaded installation files on your HD or burn them on a DVD too if you like so dont worry.
I am also corious if the GG network will withstand the first human download wave...![]()
And? Look at steam, its not like they would buy any additional bandwiths and servers, so why should GG?Well, hopefully they have noticed the massive amounts of pre-orders.![]()
Ubercat: After installation you are asked if you want to keep temporary files, delete temporary files or restart installer. If you keep temporary file and the downloader, you can install without needing to redownload.
I've used GG quite alot and like it very much. Won't be ordering HOI3 on 4th of August, though. I think I'll wait a week for the rush to subside. ;-)
Anyway, back to my original question. When I DL a game, what I get is a 65K file which does the DL and installation for me. This small file shows up in my DL folder, but the huge game file itself is no where to be seen. If I need to reinstall the game, as has happened once, I have to click on the 65k file and redownload it. Any idea where the game file itself is? I'd rather stash it on a disk for safe keeping. BTW, I'm using Vista 64. Thanks!
