I am attempting to play AoD with one of my friends using GameRanger, and am experiencing an error that I an unable to resolve.

For reference, we can play For the Glory using GameRanger.

After clicking the start button in the game room in GameRanger, it launches AoD, and sends us to the multiplayer menu (is this how it's supposed to work? This is not how FtG behaves, FtG sends us straight to the screen where one selects a scenario.) When we attempt to make a game, (clicking the host button under either Local Area or Internet) the scenario list does not appear on the left side of the screen. This presents an obvious difficulty.

Further notes that may be of assistance:
1) We have done port forewarding in our routers, using the ports listed in other threads.
2) We both have the Steam version of the game.
3) Both of our computers easily exceed the system requirements.

You guys are going to local area right and not the internet option? The host should be able to host local area game and they can join that way. If they cant see the game then i think its a router issue.

You can try to use the IP in the internet also that works as a backup somehow. IDK how the guy got the IP but i typed it in and it brought me to hit game.

It might have something to do with steam because steam sucks.

Can you join eachother's game by manually launching the game and using IP to connect?

I could recommend using hamachi in combination as it certainly makes life easier in such events.
