No error message and you tried changing resolution in the settings.txt file already ?

How about those potential ones from the "Known Issues.."stickied thread ?
I quote:
  1. Whenever I start the game in fullscreen I get a black screen and after a few seconds the game crashes
Navigate to and open "Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\settings.txt"
Locate "refreshRate=0" and make sure it is set to an refresh rate your monitor supports (60 Hz is common)
    Ex. refreshRate = 60
  2. Failed to start game (missing executable)
Run a Verify in Steam, then restart Steam. Make sure ck2game.exe is whitelisted in your anti-virus app (Comodo in particular)
  3. Error message: [MSVCP100.dll (or similar) is missing.
    Solution: install this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 then

"i can't even insert the product key"
No need to insert a product key.
Check the ignore box ("don't notify me again" or something alike) on that Steam window.
