Game won't load

Hello, since the last patch I am unable to load CKII. On launch the screen turns black, I can hear the music but the screen is black unless I click the mouse then it turns gray and crashes to desktop. I updated my graphics card and it still is doing this. I had steam test the integrity of the game files and it STILL is doing this. I have never had an issue with the game before until this patch. I do not believe it is a heat issue because this is happening when I first turn the PC on in the morning after the computer is shut down all night. I believe it is a patch issue. What can I do to fix this?

Guess you could try simply deleting the CK2 folder in Documents
(take care of save files and mods you wanna keep first before you do so).
It recreats itself on start.

Please do a full clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-CK2
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/SteamApps/common/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test
