Game won't load

Hi. I just bought Eu: Rome Gold on steam and was quite surprised when on starting the game all I got was a black screen and the game's hourglass.
I've tried reinstalling it, but that hasn't helped. The error log is empty too.
Any Ideas?

It's not clear to me - did you get up to the main game menu? If so, please let us know what the version and checksum are there (or if you can't see them there, do to shost an MP game and they will show there).

If you don't get up to the main game menu, look in the Rome /logs/setup.log file and search for the checksum in there.

Is your Steam folder under c:\program files\ ?

Ok. The problem solved itself somehow. It runs now

Btw... nope I didn't get to the main menu, the loading screen that should appear before the main menu was just a black screen.

Maybe Steam repaired the installation, probably worth using the Steam client option that verifies the game cache files. And can you say what checksum you now get? It ought to be IYID .
