Game wont launch - Steam

Hi!

I just bought and installed Cities: Skylines. Unfortunately the game won't launch. The gameicon appears in the taskbar for like 2 seconds and then disappears without any error.

Has anyone encounter a similar issue?

OS: Windows 7 64bit
Processor: Inter Core i5-4670K CPU 3.40 GHz
graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770

Already tried:

- steam verify cache
- update graphics card using GeForce Game Ready Driver
- Set Launch Options to: -force-d3d9 (at least here a black screen appears for like 2 seconds)

None of it worked.

Try and start Steam as administrator

I've a GTX770 myself on a Haswell system using 64-bit windows 7, no problems whatsoever.

Just started Steam as administrator.

Unfortunately the problem stays the same. 2 second icon and nothing else happens.

Found a solution that worked for me:

1. close steam
2. MOVE your steamapps folder
3. uninstall steam
4. reinstall steam
5. start steam and login
6. close steam
7. move steamapps folder back into steam folder
8. login into steam and play
