Hello, I bought the Paradox pack on Steam and the key consists of XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX etc. instead of XXXX-XXXX-XXXX so I can't register my game.

Furthermore the game won't install after downloading from steam. The SSE splash top keeps showing that progress bar even after 15 minutes, nothing is happening. There's also a CustomCommand window which pops up, saying that the .dll is missing. But you can't click 'OK' because the splashtop (annoyingly) stays in front of it and can't be moved.

When you force the splash top to go away by killing it you get a new one saying that QuestViewer is installed in the wrong location. That when the whole install is done automatically by Steam, wth?

No manual, no tech support, ... how do I go from here??

Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate)
Q9550
8GiB RAM
2x HD4870
Asus P5Q Pro

This apparently happens in a few rare cases. A potential fix to the problem is:

Run the Unregister.exe:

This tool can be found in the Ship Simulator Extremes folder for Steam,
for most users this will be:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ship simulator
extremes\Unregister.exe

Let me know how that works out!

/M

Awesome, all problems just vanished! (Except the CD-key for the forum of course, but I've ticketed Steam for that)

Thank you for your quick and perfect reply, I got a bit of a love / hate relationship with Paradox games, but in the end it's always worth it and you can't argue with the dedication & love of the developers for their products. :)

Now off to shovel some coal in the steam engine... :D
