Examples:
if player picked colonial nation there should be more chance of succesfull castile/portugal as colonizer so player can reform faster
at start of game AI should fill 2 rival status at 11 11 1444. third slots should be taken a week later so player can pick 1 rival that he desire.

I'm currently playing in the Americas and I have a suspicion that the AI does react to the player. I had a couple of starts and both times France went exploration with it's 1st idea. I've even seen the ottomans wandering around North America with exploration as their 3rd idea. I bet they wouldn't be doing that if I was playing as Austria. So I don't know for sure but I am suspicious.

On your 2nd point I agree. Honestly I don't know why all rivals aren't picked after day 1. It would save on restarts which nobody likes. I'm sure there are reasons why it can't be like this.

I don't think the ai should react to the player in such a way. For one, it probably isn't worth the effort to put in that kind of behaviour. How would it work in a multiplayer game? The ai should try to play "well", regardless of where the player starts.

As for rivals, you can pick any available rivals at game start, regardless of what the ai has their rivals set to..

However the player usually have a stronger influence in the area he plays that the AI. So him not being around, particularly in Europe has an impact on what the AI will do.

I think there is a misscomunication between me and you ^_^''' I said "it should" for some kind of benefit and fun for player
its a gamble to encounter with portugal or spain at america
also yes I can pick my rivals but here is question: why AI can pick rivals like they agreed to be rival while I cant? this will both reduce restarts required to start a very hard nation and create early game strategic decisions.
