I have a problem. I have the convoys all running automatically, and the AI will not send my supplies (plenty of them) from Japan's main island to the former Shanxi area just above China. I annexed Shanxi, Commi China, and puppeted China and Xibea San Mai.

My Fukuoku province is supposed to send all the supplies and oil I need (a lot b/c of all the chinese, shanxi, and xibean troops) to Tangshan (spelling ?) and therefore supply all the provinces I own under Manchukuo and above China. I checked my convoys on a daily basis, and even though I have hundreds available, the game simply lists that convoy (Fukuoku - Tangshan) as red and says it needs a minimum of 14 convoys per day. I increased the convoys to 50 to give sufficient supply so my troops wouldn't run out in 1 day. The following day they run out b/c the convoy doesn't run. The next day my convoy still doesn't run, and they simply don't run ever but on random days, and even then they only deliver enough supply to feed my troops for a couple hours. The infrastructure is high except for a couple of 60's in the mongolian desert, and the partisans would be low if all those provinces weren't out of supply. I have garrisons there. They used to be civil provinces.

I'm preparing for my attack on Russia and it's puppets, so I have massive infantry numbers in the said locations, and I also have a couple masses in the korean area. Those are now experiencing the same exact problems with supply.

Should I manage how many convoys run to my overseas areas myself? If so how can I efficiently do that w/o having to check them all the time?

Please help me figure out what is wrong so I don't have to manage them.

P.S. - I thought maybe I should have my troops on the depot, but that didn't help either. I don't understand what's wrong. I also checked to make sure that I do NOT have any convoys taking supplies from tangshan to fukuoku.

This is a known problem - sometimes the AI falls asleep and just doesn't do its job anymore. In that case the solution is simple:

1.) Disable all automatic convoy options in the production screen (should be three of them)
2.) Manually cancel all existing convoys.
3.) Let the game run for at least one full day (the 23:00->00:00 turn is the important one)
4.) Enable auto-convoys again.
5.) Let the game run for at least one full day.

This should solve the issue. However, the convoy AI does never send supplies or oil for allied divisions. So you either use them only when they are expeditionary forces, or you make sure they are not stationed in your territory. ;)

Btw: If the convoy demands 15 vessels, you better assign 200+. The number displayed is the minimum number needed to make the convoy deliver 4(sic?) units of a resource. With so many troops there, you'll need several hundreds of those convoy transports to really transport enough supplies to mainland China.

hmmm...so If I want to supply the chinese troops I'm using to help me invade America easily ( I ditched the whole Russian thing cuz it was looking too ease - the terrain is just annoying ), then I guess I'll have to manually send supply to wherever to make sure they get it? Or will the CPU not let them consume my supplies?
