game will not start when "normal game" is selected

Greetings all!

I recently purchased CKII and all its DLC and badly want to start playing. However when I start the game and select "normal game" nothing seems to happen. The music still plays and the cursor still moves but nothing else. All I have that is selectable is a red bar that reads "new content is now available for purchase. If somebody could let me know what the problem is and how it can be fixed I would greatly appreciate it.

Below that red bar you mention there should be eight buttons. If you don't see those, they may be off the bottom of your monitor.

You can edit documents/paradox/ck2/settings.txt to reduce the resolutions, and/or right-click on ck2game.exe and and select "Properties". Click on the "Compatibility" tab, and under "Settings", check the box next to "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings".
