Game will not start anymore

My game will no longer start. I was playing just fine less than 24 hours previously.

I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled twice, removed every file from the Paradox directory in the my documents folder, and even reinstalled Direct X, C++ libraries, and video card driver.

After uninstalling from within Steam, did you also check the Steam/CK2 folder was completely empty before the reinstall?

Yes. I deleted the CK2 folder under SteamApps/Common.

As an added note, I can not start any Paradox game (EUIV, Vic2, or HoI3).

OK then, something severe has changed in your machine then. You haven't done a Windows reinstall or repair recently have you? What changed on your PC between the last time it worked OK and the first time it failed? Has to be something ... !

The only change was I purchased some CKII and EUIV DLCs during the Steam sale. Every other program works properly. The 4 Paradox games worked just fine on Saturday, and when i got home from work on Sunday morning, none would start. They all would get stuck on the loading screens (usually at the "Loading Flags" part).

Please try a full clean re-install with Steam refresh:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-CK2
- "delete local content" in Steam-EU4
- exit Steam
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/EU4 AND Documents/Paradox/EU4
- manually delete everything in the Steam folder EXCEPT steam.exe and the /SteamApps/ folder (note this may lose user settings for some games)
- manually run steam.exe to rebuild everything in there
- re-install games in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- run up games with no mods active, see how they go.

This worked!!! Now my wife sleeps alone for the next couple of nights as I get my Paradox fix on!!
