Game will not Launch. If I click Play, I get an error message reading "Failed creating render backend" then a crash.

I bought the game on Steam yesterday, and have roughly 10 hours logged on it. At around 11 am today it crashed, and now whenever I try to launch the game I get the error message "Failed creating render backend." After that, the launcher crashes.

It's specifically infuriating because Steam's refund policy prohibits all refunds after 2 hours of gameplay, so unless this gets fixed I basically paid Paradox 50 bucks to waste my hard drive space. Extremely frustrating.

If any developers know what the issue is, please let me know.

can you post your dxdiag as well as the debug.log/error.log/system.log from \MyDocuments\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\logs

Also try launching the ck3.exe directly
