Well, I'm here for the obvious reason: I'm royally screwed and need someone who knows what the hell they're doing to save my ass so I can play this game. Having watched some lets-plays and listened to my friend rant about it, I'm dying to play the game. I get it installed from steam and this all comes up. I tried re-installing it to no effect.

Info which may make a difference:
I use Comodo antivirus (However I have already dealt with the known bug of it quarentining the game file. This error list was twice the size before I did that. If it's still Comodo, I may have to disable it and then re-install CK2. Again.).
This is a windows 8 laptop computer.
This is the steam version of CK2.

Not sure if this info makes a difference, but it may.

I'm rather hoping to get the game up ASAP so I can finally play. :laugh:

So, this is the error report in its entirety from my comp:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

If there's any more information I need to provide to get this working, please tell me how to get it and I'll put it up.

I am sure that is still the CK2.exe/Comodo problem. Check in your Steam CK2 directory, is ck2.exe there? If not all you should have to do is disable Comodo and do a Steam verify.

Well, I feel a little silly. After all that and it was still damned Comodo. I did as you said and disabled Comodo, followed by a verify. Steam restored CK2 and Comodo responded immediately by removing it (Despite me telling it to disable...cheeky bastard). I went into its listings and told it to restore that file and put it on the whitelist. Upon doing that, CK2 started running fine.

Thanks for that. It's working fine now, so I guess this can be locked.
