Game suddenly very slow, help!

So here I am, running the game just fine, game speed is flying through weeks in a matter of seconds.

But then suddenly, for some reason it takes about half a minute just to load a single day. It takes a couple minutes for a week instead of a couple seconds.

I have tried restarting the game, but it didn't go back to normal.

This started happening soon after the Sunset Invasions started. Don't know if it's related

Delete some of your saves. Dunno if it's a placebo effect or something but that usually seems to help speed up my game a bit.

I was already in the habit of getting rid of saves I was no longer interested in. So not many excess saves.

Have you just started playing after a long break, during which time the game was updated to include RoI?
How much memory do you have?
Also, this is probably going to get moved to Tech Support.

Is this just on one particular saved game, or even when starting a fresh new game?

Please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the end of the "Sound devices" section for brevity) and your Documents/CK2/settings.txt. From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ directory, post system.log . Open setup.log in notepad and search for 'checksum', post that line only here too please.

nevermind, when the stacks of 100k men disappeared, the game speed went back up to normal. that was seriously strange though.
