Game Suddenly Running Slow From Start

I am a religious CK2 player and a moderator on another forum for CK2, but am being plagued by problems.

Nothing has changed with my PC, but all of a sudden everything is going slow even from the very beginning. The fastest time speed feels like a crawl - and while it is sort of playable, I fear what it will be like 100-200 years into the game and can't get myself to play anymore.

The problem exists with trees or without trees, with mods or without them.

I've not seen a setup like that before - is that right? Dual cards that are the same? Not sure what the point would be ...

But your symptoms could be caused by overheating, laptops will deliberately slow their CPU and GPU when they get too hot, to prevent damage. Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU) 1/ before starting the game up and 2/ after say 20 minutes' play. If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install GPU-Zand CPU-Z, or SPEEDFAN.
