Game starter broken?

I have CKII on steam and when I decide to play it the starter doesn't allow me to change DLC's but only mods, then, when I'm in game and decide to make a new game it seems that all DLC's doesn't work


Here the screenshot of the principal DLC's I have (the minor ones aren't reported in here) but as I said the starter don't let me access to the DLC chooser on game start and even if I have the old gods, character creator ecc I can't use them

I cannot access the DLC page from that starter and in game they're not activated neither

First try running a Verify Integrity of Game cache in Steam. If that doesn't help try a full clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-CK2
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.

Do the DLC files exist in Steam/SteamApps/common/CK2/dlc/ folder?

Are you running CK2 from the Steam Library PLAY button?

Yes and Yes

When I clean uninstalled I deleted the DLC folder and the other files who remained in CK2 folder


Now I'll try to start CK2 from the executables lol

Ok, i redeleted the game + deleted every CK2 file in the /documents/paradoxinteractive/ck2 and now the starter is changed and there's not even the option to chose DLC's or mods lol

I have the exact same problem, and I've taken the same steps Woeful has.

My DLC and installed mods don't appear in the launcher either, and in the game I can't select the bookmarks or rulers that are DLC-locked.

Well, I have no idea what could be causing this for you two. Let's try a full Steam refresh.



- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-CK2
- exit Steam
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2
- manually delete everything in the Steam folder EXCEPT steam.exe and the /SteamApps/ folder
- manually run steam.exe to rebuild everything there
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- right-click on steam.exe and ck2game.exe, properties, compatibility tab. make sure there are NO boxes checked there, except tick teh "run as admin' box, then click on the 'apply this to all users' button.

Steam moves in mysterious ways, it seems. Now it works for me as well.
