When running the steam version the game, anyone with a 64 bit system is faced with the "performing first time setup" dialogue boxes before the game boots up.
Then the game processes all the path-ways (as normal games would only do the very first time), before getting to the menu screen.
This takes about 10 minutes. 32 bit games boot up in 1 minute.
