Hello all,
While everyone reads through DD's and views the WWW's titillating our strategic interests, I found myself wondering simply how the game speed settings reflected play-time. This may not be all that interesting, but I thought I would share.
Please understand that I am aware the settings may change before release and that pausing/unpausing the game is in large part necessary to fully develop grand battle plans. I simply was curious how time scales in game, especially if several friends are playing multiplayer and wished to decide are hard-set pause times agreed upon before the start of the game.
Through rough calculations watching the WWW's, Game Speeds 2, 3, and 5 are used and here are my findings of Game Speed, Game Time (GT), and Real Time (RT):
*I am glad to know that the real life calendars are used (proper leap years, etc.) however I average the year times using 28.5 days for February but do take into account 30/31 day months*
Game Speed 2:
GT - 1 Day ~ RT - 12.5 sec
GT - 1 Week ~ RT - 87.5 sec
GT - Year ~ RT - 1.27 hours
Game Speed 3:
GT - 1 Day ~ RT - 5 Sec
GT - 1 Week ~ RT - 35 sec
GT - 1 Year ~ RT - 30.46 min
Game Speed 5:
GT - 1 Day ~ RT - .5 sec
GT - 1 Week ~ RT - 3.5 sec
GT - 1 Year ~ RT - 3.05 min
If there was another thread concerning these I apologize for duel posting. Also if anyone has hard evidence or documented data please let me know and I will update!
Cheers
